In line with GrassRoots Hub’s vision of equipping the youth of the Bono region with lasting and relevant digital skills, GrassRoots Hub has once again rolled out a training program focused on Digitalizing Agriculture. This forms part of its impact journey since decade of its operation in the Bono.

Notable areas of impact include; scaling up startups with Business support training, co-creations of innovations, equipping young girls with PreTech skills, offering business incubation programs, organizing Sunyani Jobs, among other remarkable initiatives.

During the latter part of last year, specifically in October 2021, GrassRoots Hub, through the partnership with Ghana Tech Lab and the National Service Scheme, rolled out a Mobile App Development training for some National Service Personnel, which saw the majority of the trainees starting their business after the training.  

To build upon this success story, GrassRoots Hub has commenced a Digitalizing Agriculture Training – Cohort -2 for some selected National Service Personnel numbering up to 20, who will get the opportunity to venture into their businesses after the successful completion of the training in the next six months.

The Hub commenced this training with the primary aim of equipping 20 enthusiastic youth with digital skills that will enable them to work on different solutions that improve productivity in the Agric sector and to achieving the ultimate goal of eradicating unemployment through digitalizing Agriculture for Economic Development.

Speaking to Andrews Mensah, a trainee on the sideline, here is what he had to say, ‘’ I studied Computer Science in the University, and I must admit that we couldn’t benefit from such a practical lessons as we are currently enjoying under this this training. 

This training is tailored to offer prospective National Service personnel the opportunity to utilize their six month of their NSS period to become entrepreneurs.
